2018 Ramey Rochioli Vineyard Chardonnay

The Rochioli family has been growing grapes on their estate since the late 1950s. The vineyard is now managed by the third generation. From the 100% Chardonnay, they gently press whole bunches for phenolic delicacy. Indigenous yeast and full indigenous malolactic fermentation take place in barrels, with sur lees bâtonnage. After 20 months of maturation in 25% new François Frères and Taransaud Beaune French oak barrels, the Chardonnay was traditionally fined for clarity and texture and bottled without filtration.

The 2018 Ramey Chardonnay Rochioli Vineyard is youthfully wrapped in soft white peach scents and a hint of hazelnut, flowers and crushed shell. The palate is spicy and mineral-driven to start, opening to a soft, generously perfumed finish.
