Description
The Lassegue has a beautiful ruby red color with aromas of plums, wild berries, pencil shavings and dark chocolate on the nose. Medium to full-bodied on the palate with lively, powdery tannins, bright acidity and an elegant profile. Give this wine a few more years of aging and you will be rewarded.

About Château Lassègue
Château Lassègue is a prestigious winery located in the Saint-Émilion appellation, one of the most renowned wine regions of Bordeaux, France. The château is known for producing elegant, expressive wines that reflect the unique characteristics of the Saint-Émilion terroir. Château Lassègue has a long and rich history dating back to the 18th century. Vineyards
The vineyards of Château Lassègue cover approximately 24 hectares and are ideally located on the slopes of the Côte de Saint-Émilion. The vineyards are planted with traditional Bordeaux grape varieties:
- Merlot (about 60%)
- Cabernet Franc (about 35%)
- Cabernet Sauvignon (about 5%)
The vineyards benefit from an excellent terroir, consisting of clay-limestone soils that ensure good drainage and favorable ripening of the grapes. This terroir contributes to the complexity, minerality and structure of the wines.

The 2019 Lassegue unwinds in the glass with aromas plums, wild berries, pencil shavings and dark chocolate. Medium to full-bodied, deep and lively, with powdery tannins, bright acids and a rather understated, elegant profile for an estate that can often deliver rather dramatic wines, this will reward a little patience.

This is so fine and refined with currant, crushed stone, lime stone and fresh mushroom. It’s medium-bodied with fine tannins that run the length of the wine. Minerally finish. Tight and racy. Drink after 2025, but already beautiful.

From: Uncertain Smile: Bordeaux 2019 (Jun 2020)
The 2019 Lassègue is a property that lies in a prime location, on the slopes along from Pavie and Bellefont-Belcier. Deep in colour, it has a fragrant bouquet with vivacious blackberry, blueberry and crushed violet scents. The oak IS beautifully integrated. A marine element develops with aeration. The palate is fleshy and soft on the entry, an easygoing, nicely balanced 2019 Saint-Émilion. I would have like a bit more backbone and grip on the finish. Crack it open after a couple of years and enjoy over 12-15 years.
