Souvignier Gris

The Souvignier Gris is a young grape variety and therefore perhaps not yet well known. This is because the Souvignier Gris is mainly planted in northern wine regions, because the grape is more resistant to colder and wetter weather. The Souvignier Gris is a hybrid grape. This means that the grape has been bred with other grape varieties: it is a cross between the Cabernet Sauvignon and the lesser-known German grape variety the Bronner. 

What does wine from the Souvignier Gris grape taste like?

The Souvignier Gris has a balanced taste. The Carbernet Sauvignon gives it power and complexity. The Bronner gives the wine a fresh taste with refreshing acidity. The fresh and fruity notes are very similar to those of citrus fruits.
